Also, what is Arva-Pride?
Hi neighbor!
People have asked me - what is Arva-Pride? Well, I first heard of it as one of the flours that the Arvada Mill sold. It’s also a slogan on the side of the mill as seen in this photo. I’m proud to live in Arvada and to serve all of you!

🏛 What’s Up at Council
April 15th – 2024 Year-End Financial Report 💰
The finance team will present the overall financial picture of 2024 with updates on specific performance measures, overview of major revenue categories of the general fund, other major funds, the city’s investment portfolio and an overview of grants.
Our council meeting on April 8 had an excellent presentation by our presiding Judge Kurtz about the amazing work our municipal court system is doing and moving over to a paperless system. One interesting take away from the presentation is that there is virtually no way to be ‘legally’ homeless - without a home, people will be fined for trespassing or setting up a tent or something that they do in order to survive, making the One Small Step program all the more crucial. You can review this presentation here:

🙋♀️ Speak up!
This week I had the honor of testifying in support of SB25-276 in the legislature, which will protect the constitutional rights of all Colorado residents and support the historical legacy of immigrant rights in our state. I spoke about local control to defend our residents and the effect that raids have had on our families here in Arvada. You can read my testimony, and I encourage you to contact your state representatives and ask them to support the bill. Read the bill here.
As always, feel free to contact me by replying to this email! And if you live in District Two, don’t forget to mention it when you reach out!
