Click it or Ticket 🚓
From the city team:
The National Click it or Ticket May Mobilization starts on May 18th and runs through the 31st. This national campaign centers around the Memorial Day Holiday, the unofficial start of the summer travel season, and where, here in Arvada, we have seen numerous fatal and serious injury crashes through the years. Nationally, 48% of passenger vehicle occupants killed in traffic collisions were unrestrained. The Traffic Unit will be conducting some targeted enforcement during this time frame, but all of Patrol is asked to take strict enforcement action on seatbelt violations as well.
🏛 What’s Up at Council
Wildfire Mitigation 🔥
The last council meeting focused on two workshops, one was on water fees and rate schedules, and the other was on wildfire mitigation. We can expect more public safety power shutoffs from Excel this summer as drought conditions are expected to persist and worsen. Now is a great time to get ready for the dry season, and the city and the fire department are working together to keep our residents safe.

Comprehensive Plan Engagement 🤝
A Comprehensive Plan is a municipality's effort to create a shared vision for the future of our community. As the name suggests, it is a comprehensive combination of goals and policies around economic development, housing, transportation, parks and open space — all the pieces that go into making our community what it is. It is created through a collaborative process with residents, City staff, partners, elected leaders and others to guide future development.
